What’s New?
This week we’re highlighting our newest Rowan yarn arrival! Rowan launched their Spring/Summer 2020 collection at the beginning of February and we’re fully stocked in some great, lightweight yarns that are perfect for your warm-weather knits.
Softyak DK
This yarn is a blend of 76% cotton, 15% yak, and 9% nylon, resulting in a softer-than-soft feel and excellent drape. Good for both simple knits and more intricate colorwork and patterning, you’ll love working with this yarn and the final product you’ll get. Cape Bay, by Martin Storey contains 18 patterns for garments and home accessories made in Softyak DK. We love the nautical-inspired designs, with traditional cables and striking color palettes. We have a sample of the Buckland kids’ cardigan in store, knit by AJ, so you can see how this yarn works up!
Cotton Cashmere
Another wonderful DK weight yarn, cotton cashmere is 85% cotton and 15% cashmere, perfect for adding a touch of luxury to your spring and summer wardrobe. This yarn is available in a soft, muted color palette that’s the perfect amount of color without overwhelming your craftsmanship. This yarn boasts easy care and washability so it’s wonderful for a range of projects like garments and baby items. Rowan Magazine 67 features many crochet patterns made with cotton cashmere, including tank tops, cardigans, and accessories! Come see Jen’s wonderful crocheted sweater, aptly named Verona, by Lisa Richardson, and start planning your next project!
Summerlite 4-Ply
100% cotton is the name of the game with this fingering weight yarn. Ultra soft with excellent stitch definition, this is the yarn you want for those lightweight but classic knit and crocheted garments. Check out how this yarn performs in stranded colorwork with our Diego sample, knit by Kaylin. This yarn is available in vibrant palette that will add a bold punch of color to those summer garments and accessories.
