The event we look forward to all year long is almost upon us!
Madtown Yarn Shop Hop is all weekend Friday Oct. 13th through Sunday Oct. 15th. Click here to visit the Shop Hop homepage where you can find a list of participating shops, their locations, prize offerings, and any special opening hours for the weekend. Make sure you pick up a Shop Hop passport at the first shop you visit, then get a stamp from every subsequent shop and leave it with the folks at your final stop for the weekend for a chance at the Hop-wide prize drawing!
Come Early or Late!
We hope you’ll make us your first stop (coffee! breakfast! gotta fuel up for a long day of hopping!) and/or last stop (open extra-late Friday night, meet up with your friends for dinner and a spread out on our dining room tables to show off your haul!) of the day.

One Stop – Two Shops!
The Sow’s Ear is hosting Four Crows Fibers for the weekend! So one stop in Verona will net you two stamps on your Shop Hop Passport, plus the incontestable joy of seeing an array of stunning colorways hand-dyed on a plethora of different bases and the chance to hang out with Melissa Brown herself.
Goodies & Newbies
The grand idea behind the Madtown Yarn Shop Hop: “An annual event that started in 2017 as a way to celebrate our local fiber community and support small, locally owned businesses in Madison, Wisconsin and the surrounding area. Over the years, the Shop Hop has expanded to include different farms and mills to round out the experience.”
We have such an amazing abundance of local fiber shops in the area, we hope that you’ll take this weekend to visit your old favorites and also discover some new gems you didn’t know about before! Brick and mortar yarn shops rely on their local communities so much, and we all appreciate it every single time you decide to patronize us instead of an online big box store.
To show our appreciation we will be running a tiered gift card sale where the more you spend the more you get back, and as always if you shop with a Sow’s Ear tote bag (or buy one at the event!) you get 10% off your entire yarn purchase. We’ve also just restocked a ton of super-cute stickers, Halloween- and autumn-themed notions, Lord of the Rings and The Nightmare Before Christmas pattern books, and we are bringing in brand-new and new-to-us yarn lines to unveil for the weekend, so stay tuned….!
